My friend
Richard asked for a convention report, so here's a few notes:
The platform was completely replaced by the reformers and is, IMO, a much better document that gives candidates the latitude to decide how far they want to go and how they want to get there.
On the presidential candidates, I voted for NOTA on all ballots. I think Barr was the candidate with the most credibility for reaching the American voter. He's also likely to do more damage to McCain, which I have concerns about, given that the Democrats are likely to nominate Obama, who is clueless about almost everything. There was talk in the lobby after the presidential vote from the purists about leaving the party. Steve Kubby, one of the other candidates, urged people to stay in and work for change. I saw party founder David Nolan giving interviews which I think will be posted on
Third Party Watch later.
